Scams of any sort are at an all time high, especially in this economy. There is the traditional scam of transferring a small amount of money to a Nigerian Prince in order to be paid millions. However some scams actually have a product and delivery involved. Hair extension scams fall under this perimeter, and here are a few things for all of us to consider to avoid encountering scams.
- Don’t just rely on customer reviews, make sure there is video and pictures involved in the reviews as well. In today’s social media mayhem you can bet that if there are any reviews being left that someone is also trying to leave a picture or video with it. If you see reviews with no pictures at all and no videos at all, meaning 100% of the reviews are all text only, don’t walk, RUN.
- Ask questions and review pricing carefully. This is a very important assessment when deciding who to purchase hair from especially if it’s wholesale here which will be a larger purchase. Match the prices with the quality because the bottom line is that you want the best quality for the best price to allow you to keep your reputation and sell for a good profit. If you sell for a good profit, but the quality is trash and so goes your reputation, you will never resell a second or third customer.
Beware of Hair Scams
- Samples should be available. Some hair companies have free samples however this generally went away when it was taken advantage of around 2010 or so. Nowadays here companies will sell you a sample for a nominal fee, and we’ll have several different textures in that sample to allow you to be able to choose which curl you prefer in your first purchase. If they don’t have samples available, they are either a new hair company or have terrible quality and don’t want you to sample the quality because you’ll never make a purchase.
- Any legitimate and good hearted wholesale hair company will have a return policy of some sort. If they are refusing to accept any returns whatsoever then it is best for you to find another hair company and possibly even pay a little more. It is better for you to make it a little less profit then to take the risk or not being able to sell the hair at all because you can’t return it or exchange it for the quality that you may need or want.
Following these four steps will help all of us to avoid scams and neglect which ultimately can leave us with regret and money wasted.
