Curly Hair Extensions
Big hair, Don’t care! When I say I love big hair, I LOVE BIG CURLY BEAUTIFUL Hair! The bigger the better. I am absolutely in love with big luscious curly hair. It just fits me. And the best part about it is when you invest in virgin hair, you get the best of both worlds. With most virgin human hair curly extensions you can wear the hair straight or curly. I prefer to wear it curly, at least most of the time.
Now, what they don’t tell you about rocking curly hair extensions, is that, they require a lot more maintenance and attention than their straight or body wave counterparts. When it comes to curly hair extensions there are a few main things you have to incorporate into your hair care routine to make sure your hair is looking its best.
Wash and condition regularly
Wash and conditions your curly hair extensions on a regular basis. I would suggest using a quality brand named shampoo and conditioner.
A good Spray bottle will become your best friend. You may not want to wash your hair every day, but you must know that curly hair extensions thrive when they are properly moisturized. I do this by adding a small amount of coconut oil, and leave in conditioner to a spray bottle filled with water. I mist my hair in the mornings and watch my curls bounce right back like new.
Curly Extensions – 4 Secrets to Keep Curls
It is best to detangle your curly hair extensions when they are wet. When brushing or combing the hair while it’s dry can cause a ton of breakage and shedding. The best tools to use are a wide tooth comb, a vent brush, a dimming brush, or your god given fingers.
Setting foams/ lotions
Nothing brings back curly hair extensions like a good setting foam. You can find them at almost any local Walmart, pharmacy or beauty supply store. I love using a setting foam after I’ve washed, conditioned, detangled and moisturized. The setting foam helps to lock in the moisture and set the curls into place.
The most important thing to remember when wearing curly hair extensions is to treat and care for them just how you would treat and care for your very own natural hair. If you treat them right, they will treat you right… If you treat them wrong……, Well you know the rest.
