Real human hair has to be treated with the same care and love as the woman that wore it gave it. That means get out of the idea that you will wear your hair extensions for 2 weeks or more without washing and/or conditioning it..(THAT WILL NOT WORK). It will only leave you regretful and possibly bitter about an expensive purchase that didn’t maintain its beauty because of your own negligence..
its important to get in the mid-set that if the hair was growing out of your own scalp, you would have to wash and condition it regularly to keep it from breaking off and becoming damaged. below we will go step by step through the HOW TO process of making sure that your hair purchase is a satisfying experience that you keep reliving over and over again.

STEP 1: ALWAYS take the time to inspect your hair bundles before installing. Make sure to LEAVE the bundles intact. You should notice immediately if there are any issues with the hair.
STEPS 2: You care for hair extensions by always protecting the wefts that connect the hair together by sealing them prior to installation. Use Salon Pro 30 Sec Easy Track Weft Sealer or use Never Loose Weft Sealer to seal your wefts, This will help to eliminate shedding and increase the durability of your hair extensions.
STEP 3: We HIGHLY recommended co-washing (washing hair with a moisturizing conditioner) for all 100% Virgin hair, no matter if its Real Brazilian Hair Extensions or Peruvian Loose Curl Virgin Hair. This step will help with transforming the hair to make it even more gorgeous and luminous. Make sure to Co-Wash the hair BEFORE you make any changes such as coloring or bleaching.
STEP 4: Scrunch up hair gently to reform curl or wave pattern and allow it to Air Dry.

STEP 6: FOR CURLY HAIR ONLY: Everyday use a 50% water and 50% leave in conditioner that you mix yourself OR use a curl defining product from: Shea Moisture. Cantu also has great curl defining products. You want to do this everyday to define curls and keep the hair moisturized, you don’t want curly hair to get dried out….
NOTE: Try wetting the hair lightly with water to get it moist while in the shower, then apply the product that will define the curls and let it dry.
STEP 6: FOR STRAIGHT AND BODY WAVE ONLY: Use a light oil or hair serum like :Organix Moroccan oil or Paul Mitchell serum to keep the hair moisturized and give it shine. This should be done 4 times a week or every other day.
After a week of wearing your new look continue with step 7.

STEP 7: Shampoo at least once a week, Twice if needed using a natural shampoo or shampoo with PH levels no more than 7, Organix or Cantu are good shampoos to use. While shampooing the hair make sure to be gentle and take care not to massage or tangle the hair. Rinse thoroughly with luke-warm water.
STEP 8: Apply conditioner and comb through with a wide tooth comb. Always start with the ends first combing downward and working your way up as the ends comb thru with ease. Avoid any unnecessary rough brushing or combing of the hair. Allow the condition to stay on the hair for 15 to 20 minutes, then rinse thoroughly and allow it to air dry.
Avoid alcohol based products to avoid over drying of the hair. Avoid product build up by only using the minimum amount of products on the hair. Take care to make sure you are keeping your premium hair extensions moisturized. We suggest a light leave in conditioner. Especially on Virgin 8A or 9A quality Hair Extensions.
Follow these step WITH DISCIPLINE and your hair extensions will last longer and be more beautiful as time passes.

Thanks for pointing out that natural hair extensions should be treated as your real hair as well. As you said, it must be washed and conditioned every day to keep it from getting damaged. I will share this information with my sister since she will be getting one this weekend. She just wants to get a longer hair to style it out for the event that she will be hosting on Sunday night.

Thanks for pointing out that the extensions must be a little moist when applying a product for the waves. I will keep that in mind to make the extensions have a good appearance in the long run. I just plan to get extensions since I am going to imitate a famous artist for the themed New Year party that a friend of mine will be hosting next week.

My sister has short hair and she wants to have longer hair for a party that she will be attending. It was explained here that hair extensions should be cared for like how we care for normal hair. Furthermore, it’s recommended to consult experts when dealing with virgin hair extensions.
