Sleeping in Hair Extensions

Let’s be honest, beauty is pain. and hair extensions are maintenance, hair in general is maintenance but hair extensions that are human hair are just the same. Besides all of the washing and conditioning and protective styles that it takes in order to keep your locks luscious and moisturized. There’s also the habit of maintaining your hair when you are home and even when you’re unconscious.

Today we’re going to highlight hair extensions and how to care for them when you’re asleep.

We all don’t know this but there is a method to the madness of sleeping a certain way when hair extensions are installed, that’s why it’s important that we share this madness, I mean method. Lol so that every girl can get the most out of the investment she’s made in her hair and her beauty.

Step 1: brush and comb your hair, this not only promotes healthy hair, but it also stimulates your hair follicles right before you get that much needed rest. This is a step that is often overlooked by women and it’s actually one of the most important steps that should be paid attention to.

Step 2: Prepare your hair, preparing your hair by applying moisturizers and leave-in conditioners is absolutely critical to hair growth and is also essential to your hair being more manageable the following day. Missing this just one day can be the difference between shiny luxurious hair and dry itchy straggly hair. Miss this for months at a time and you can see the big difference between healthy hair and unhealthy hair.

Step 3: Wrapping your hair, wrapping your hair at night is similar to drinking a glass of tea, it is the securing and settling down that is practiced over and over, night after night that will allow your hair to stay in place and avoid abrasion and tension as you sleep. You can braid your hair as a form of wrapping or you can literally wrap your hair by brushing the left side of your hair backward and continuing to brush all around to the back coming around to the right side of your hair and brushing it forward literally using your hair to wrap your entire Skull.

Step 4: protection protection protection, protecting your hair is the last line of defense before you go to sleep at night, you can use a bonnet, or a head-wrap, or a du rag if that’s all you have. We believe it’s essential to invest in a head wrap and a bonnet particularly an oversized bonnet that will allow your hair the room to breathe leaving it protected yet free.

In summary ladies don’t just lay down on a dry cotton pillow with your bare hair un moisturized, unprotected, and unwrapped. If you do you will pay for it for years to come but follow these steps and thank me later.
